According to my measurements the King Tri-Metal main bearing shells average .0007" thinner than spec. If your crank is already ground to exactly .010" under original spec and the housing bores are at spec, this will theoretically result in bearing clearance of about .0014" greater than original spec. If you are grinding the crank it is always best to check the fitted bearing size first then grind the crank for the desired clearance.
The AE/Glyco main bearings measure at spec so if your crank is already ground .010" under it may be better to go with the AE/Glyco for correct clearance.
