Good Parts now offers new chilled iron camshafts as well as reground stock cams. The new cams offfer greater durability due to improved material and larger diameter.

Good Parts camshafts are precisely ground to an exclusive profile designed for the Triumph engine.

The "GP2" high performance street profile offers very good idle, fantastic torque in low and mid range and good top end power up to about 5500rpm. Its lower torque range makes it the best choice for street, and autocross. It will also do an excellent job in a drag race with plenty of torque the whole way through the quarter mile.

The "GP3" is also a good street profile but has its torque range at a slightly higher rpm. It will idle with a nice lope at 1000 to 1200 rpm, has an excellent mid range and a high horsepower top end while still maintaining good torque at low rpm. The driver who likes to rev a bit higher and wants the ultimate edge in a horsepower will prefer the "GP3" profile. This cam also has a wide torque range that will get you through the gears with no waiting time.

Good Parts high performance valve springs are recommended with GP2 & GP3 camshafts.

These chilled iron tappets have average face hardness RC62 to work with chilled iron camshafts and a narrow edge chamfer to accommodate high velocity lobe profiles such as GP2 and GP3.  The face is gound flat for proper operation and wear and a manganese phosphate coating protects the surface during break-in.  An oil drain hole in the side aids lubrication of the face. 

Always replace tappets when replacing camshaft.

Nitrided to increase hardness for better wear.  Includes oil drain hole to aid lubrication of the face.  Most tappets sold for these engines are ground with a slight crown on the face which is incorrect.  Good Parts tappets are gound flat for proper operation and wear.

Bring us your block or have it shipped to us and we will bore it for cam bearings using our own dedicated equipment designed specifically for the job.  Price does not include cam bearings, installation of bearings or return shipping.  Bare blocks (main bearing caps are not needed) can be shipped via UPS.  The block should be bolted into a plywood box with cardboard covering the outside.  The total weight may not exceed 150 lbs.  Good Parts can send you a shipping box and return shipping label.  Contact us for a shipping quote.
