Upgrade rear braking with a disc brake conversion kit with Wilwood two piston caliper and mechanical parking brake caliper. Available in two piston sizes to tune braking to your preference. Smaller pistons in the rear calipers give you shorter pedal travel, firm pedal feel with more braking effort required and bias more braking to the front. Larger pistons in the rear calipers offer lighter pedal feel but slightly more pedal travel and bias more braking to the rear. DO NOT use the large piston rear calipers with stock front calipers as this may cause dangerous rear brake lock-up. Calipers allow clearance for most tube shock conversions. Wheel spacer 3/8" thick is required to fit stock steel wheels with rear disc brake kit. Longer wheel studs required for use of wheel spacers. Wire wheels or alloys fit with no spacer. Kits are priced without brake pads to allow your choice of pads. Some selection of Wilwood pads are listed below. Other Wilwood pads are available. Descriptions available at wilwood.com or request info from Good Parts. Braking needs can vary from one vehicle to another due to tire size, suspension settings, weight and other factors. Good Parts makes no recommendation as to the suitability of a particular piston size or brake pad combination for your vehicle.

WARNING: Optimum braking is achieved with the correct balance of front to rear bias. Too much braking power in the front reduces overall braking because the rear is contributing less. Too much rear braking is very dangerous because rear lock-up can cause the car to spin. TEST YOUR BRAKES in a safe place where there is no danger to (or from) other people or vehicles BEFORE driving on the street.
